List of Lists (and books about lists)

Yep, I went there. 🙂

As I start blogging more and more, I will include at the top of some posts a checkmark indicating that one of the following items listed below have been checked off.  For those who are listers like me, it’s just fun to read other people’s lists.  So here goes:

List of Lists: List of List Books:

I love reading other people’s lists just as much as, if not more than, my own.  Here I will list the ones I’ve read as well the ones I want to read.  Please add your recommendations for list books in the comments section!

1) To-Do List: From Buying Milk to Finding a Soul Mate, What Our Lists Reveal About Us by Sasha Cagen

I loved being able to see real-life lists from both ordinary and famous people.  The book breaks the lists down into different categories for easy reading and even gives you a prompt to write your own list at the bottom of each page.

2) The List: 100 Ways to Shake Up Your Life by Gail Belsky

When we received this book in shipment at a previous job of mine, I flipped through it just to get some product knowledge.  I was immediately hooked from there; enough to purchase it.  The book contains 100 different stories from people (I believe all of them are women) who did or are doing exciting things.  Everything from getting a tattoo, to writing a novel, to taking a lover, this book makes you want to go out and do something new yourself.  In fact, I credit this book with getting me into National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo.  Once I started NaNoWriMo, I wasn’t able to turn back!

List books I’m interested in reading:

1) Lists: To-dos, Illustrated Inventories, Collected Thoughts, and Other Artists’ Enumerations from the Collections of the Smithsonian Museum by Liza Kirwin

2) Dream It. List It. Do It!: How to Live a Bigger & Bolder Life, from the Life List Experts at 43Things.com by the editors at 43Things.com and Lia Steakley

*Do you have any suggestions for list books?  If so, please list them in the comments section.

    1. Thanks timothy! 🙂 Sounds as if you have good taste in TV shows! Very action/superhero based, I see. It’d be fun to see one of your lists; I think they’d be great!
